Henry Cavill and Royal Marines, More Than a Partnership, a Mission



Our Henry is not the only superhero in the family, despite being accustomed to roles such as Theseus in Immortals, his older brother Nick Cavill is Major Nick Cavill, of the Royal Marines.






Henry has been dedicated to the cause of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust, as its ambassador to raise funds to help in the treatment of wounded soldiers and support their families.

Who are the Royal Marines
The Royal Marines are the amphibious infantry force of the Royal Navy, the UK Navy. They are similar to the Marine Corps in Brazil and are experts in amphibious operations, mountain and in the Arctic. They have one of the largest infantry training courses in the world.



Its History 
The Marines were formed as part of the Naval Service in 1755. However, its origins date back to October 28, 1664, when British troops were sent first to the sea to fight the Dutch. This year they will be completing 351 years.


Throughout its history, the Royal Marines have been seen in action in a number of major wars and often struggle alongside the British Army - including The Seven Years War, the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimean War, the two World Wars world. In recent times, the RM have been widely deployed in expeditionary warfare roles, as the Falklands War, the Gulf War, the Bosnian War, the Kosovo War, the civil war in Sierra Leone, the Iraq war and war in Afghanistan. The Royal Marines have international ties with allied naval forces.



Its Effective

They have regular de7.420 effective military, as well as a volunteer reserve force part time 970, giving a total of 8,390 marines. This makes the Royal Marines are the greatest force of its kind in the European Union and the single European force capable of carrying out amphibious operations, the level of brigade.
The body’s command structure is similar to the British Army with the officers and recruited squares and initially trained separately from other sailors.
The overall head of the Royal Marines is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, in her role as Commander in Chief of the British Armed Forces. The ceremonial chief of the Royal Marines is the Captain General Royal Marines. The current chief captain is Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The military command of the Royal Marines is exercised by a Major General, who acts as Commander Amphibious Force of the UK. Currently this commander is Major General Martin Smith.
